Are there socks in God’s Heaven House?
So, are there socks in God’s Heaven House? This question was posed to me by my 3 year old grandson. My answer: “I don’t know, but if we need socks in God’s Heaven House, God will have them.” The topic of God having a room for all who become followers of Jesus came up as I was teaching in a Women of Hope seminar. Though we know some details of what heaven will be like, we will not know the complete picture until we arrive! This brought to my mind the question from my grandson and I shared it with the women. I was blessed to teach with over 300 women representing 7 churches this week. The topic: our assignment from Jesus as he returned home to live with His father in Heaven. I shared from the lives of three women: Lydia, Dorcas and Hannah and the impact they had on the lives of other believers and how it applies today. During our time together I told the women that what we learn from God’s Word is not to be kept a “secret” but we must share it with others so that we can all be reunited one day in our Heavenly Home. It was refreshing to talk, pray, study and laugh with these women. We had journeyed up into the mountains to Gatsina Church and were joined by the women from six other mountain top churches. Our two hour program turned into six, prompted by questions, testimonies and encouragement from one another. Pray for these women and the church leadership as they continue “their assignment” to share the Gospel.
These are photos from our trip to the mountains!
We said good bye to Dwayne Phillips! He has left an impact on the team through his servant’s heart and willingness to not only share his knowledge of agriculture but sharing God’s Word. The people of Burundi have been blessed and are prayinig for him as he seeks God’s wisdom in serving further here in Burundi.
The BHP team had an all day retreat near the lake to share our ideas for future programs and seek God’s wisdom in the direction of the Burundi Hope Project. It was a day of reflection, prayer and fellowship. I am blessed by the team the Lord has sent to work alongside of me while serving in Burundi.
As I start my final week in Burundi for this trip, I would appreciate your prayers! I will be working through my own“to-do list” and leaving the assignments for the BHP team. I am thankful for our weekly meetings via technology that keep us connected and accountable for the work the Lord has called us to. In the event I don’t send another update prior to departure for the US, your prayers for safe travels home on June 19.
God Bless!
